Slight variations in taste and texture of our cheeses are to be expected, because La Ferme Cheese uses authentic farm-house methods and no mechanized technology.

If your love for cheese is often clouded with the guilt of consuming ungodly amounts of fats and calories, we have some good news for you. Goat cheese or chèvre is made with goat’s milk and is considered more nutritionally dense and healthier when compared to cow cheese. While goat cheese is made with the same curdling and division method as cow cheese, there are several notable differences in the nutritional makeup of both. In fact, goat cheese is considered as a suitable alternative for those who are allergic to cow cheese and cannot effectively process lactose. Read on to find out what are the differences between goat cheese and cow cheese, and how goat cheese has the upper hand!

Beyond the obvious difference that both the varieties come from different animals, three main points set goat cheese and cow cheese apart. For starters, cow cheese is much more readily available when compared to goat cheese. It is affordable and is produced for the masses. On the other hand, goat cheese is usually made and sold locally. The second difference is the flavour. While cow cheese has a neutral and milder flavour, goat cheese has a slightly stronger and sour taste. Cheese made from cow milk is dense and firm, while that made from goat milk is tender and soft. Nutritionally, goat cheese is lower in lactose and higher in minerals and fats. On the other hand, cow cheese has larger molecules of fat which makes them harder to digest. Here are five main
